Elaine Kelly first became a Financial Planner after travelling to Africa and seeing their poverty yet positive spirit. With Canada's resources, we should be able to combat poverty, and for more than eighteen years, Elaine has helped people build financial security for themselves and their families. This book takes you one step further, to help you to support your community or causes close to your heart.

Meridian members report that Elaine is friendly, knowledgeable, empathetic and can explain complex topics in plain language. The characters in the book show varied points of view as they discuss and clarify the wide range of charitable giving strategies available to Canadians and the financial planning characteristics of each.

Elaine earned an HBA and MBA from the Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario, passed the Canadian Securities Course, earned the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and Financial Management Advisor (FMA) designations. She is now a Financial Planning Specialist with Meridian Credit Union, where real people build lives. Meridian is committed to giving 4% of pre-tax profits to worthwhile causes and was a Founding Donor for the Niagara Community Foundation. Meridian is the largest credit union in Ontario, serving over 200,000 members, and is a full-service partner offering relationship-based financial services and neighbourhood banking.
