Synopsis
Written for anyone who is tired of fundraising appeals and may be looking to have more impact with their charitable giving dollar, Elaine demonstrates a comprehensive collection of the charitable giving strategies available to Canadians today. As a Financial Planner, she shows the characteristics, tax and estate implications of each alternative. Written especially for readers who are not in the business of financial planning or fundraising, the story line makes it an easy read. Inspiring, realistic characters are used to demonstrate the giving strategies available. Filled with memorable quotes, the book finishes with five useful hands-on Appendixes.
Story line
The story centres on a fictional character, Allison, 54, who has just nursed her mom through the final stages of cancer and is now considering the meaning of life and what legacy she might leave. She joins her long-time friends in attending a reunion of the class of 1977. The friends address Allison's concerns about life's struggles and successes, and give Allison ideas and alternatives to have a lasting impact through charitable giving and volunteering.
