How can biblical truth be honoured in fiction?

I like to think of biblical fiction as a parable, an earthly story revealing divine truth.

We perform a drama when we take Holy Communion, reenacting the roles of Jesus and the disciples.

We fictionalize the birth of Jesus at each Christmas pageant.

Through the centuries, churches have commissioned art to tell biblical stories to an illiterate population.

In the 16th century, Ignatius of Loyal encouraged imagining yourself in Bible stories as a method of prayer, contemplation, and reflection.
